It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since I made my big public debut at the Titan booth during the 2011 Folsom Street Fair. It’s been quite a ride! This year Titan chose not to have a booth (no doubt for business reasons; those sorts of decisions are way above the head of a two-bit porn guy like me), so Dirk and I were free to roam the fair, along with our good friend Paul. Here are some of the pics that Paul and I took. Enjoy!
OMG, did you see this? Last night’s episode of The Colbert Report featured a bit about how the GOP is upset that there aren’t enough “angry white men” to carry on the Republican legacy. Stephen’s solution to this problem is to market his own brand of “Angry White Man Sperm” that he would “whip up” while watching… get ready for this… the classic Titan/ManPlay film HARDWORK! How cool is that?! Who knew Stephen was a fan?
HARDWORK, which stars Tober Brandt, Chuck Scott, Logan Steele and more — and which all of Colbert Nation is now clamoring for — is currently streaming on the Titan website. If you’re not a Titan subscriber, sign up today and create your own angry sperm right now! You can also watch the Colbert episode (courtesy of Hulu) below.
I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 9 years old (see photographic evidence at right, which I’m surprised I never burned). In fact, I was one of the first people in my elementary school class to need them. I had this awful pair of brown plastic things that were way too big for my face, and also a pair of those huge plastic sports goggles like Kareem Adbul-Jabbar used to wear (except I also wore a rainbow-colored elastic band to keep them in place, leaving no doubt as to my sexuality, not to mention my lack of taste). This trend of ugly eyewear continued through 10th grade when I finally got contacts… but I still wore my glasses most of the time. And I still do. These days, I only wear my contacts for sports, the gym, (sometimes) when I go out, and for shooting porn… but that last part’s about to change.
The response to my most recent scene (with Mack Manus in Fast Friends — pics below) has been overwhelming… and most of you have said the same thing: “I LOVE that you wore your glasses in that scene! You don’t see enough of that in porn!” Well, I hear you… and Titan hears you too. Based entirely on your feedback, we’ve decided to work my glasses into a future Titan scene (probably the one I’m filming next week). I can’t wait to see how it turns out. One thing’s for certain, though… it’s sure to be a “spectacle.” 😎
Also, you gotta love a studio that listens to its fans. Yet another reason I love working with those guys!
I was just updating my BigMuscle profile and was reminded of a story from when I met Dirk. (As an aside: I’ve been a member of BigMuscle.com since the very early days… to give you an idea, I’m profile #6531 out of nearly 154,000! Andy and Bill, who run the site, are fantastic guys and good friends. They’re friends of the company too, having collaborated with Titan on a film starring Jake Deckard.)
Anyway, I was looking at my profile and remembered that once, long ago, I’d created a “pal” link to Dirk’s profile, and tagged it with the comment “You had me at conch shell.” I read that again and smiled. You see, back when Dirk and I first met at Folsom in 2011, he dropped a couple of references in a single sentence that I’d never forget. We were in the middle of that fateful lunch, and it was only minutes before “the email” arrived. (Read the whole story here, if you haven’t already. It’s a good read.) We’d been discussing how to balance porn life with romantic life, and Dirk was making a point about how porn sex is very different from love. He suddenly realized that he’d been steering the conversation for a while, and promptly apologized: “Sorry, I didn’t mean to take the conch shell… or the red scrunchie!”
Seriously? A Lord of the Flies reference and a Heathers reference… in the same sentence? Needless to say, this got my attention. “Who is this guy?” I thought. “I already know he’s really hot and sweet… but smart and well-rounded too?” And so began my fascination with a man who has never ceased to — if you’ll pardon the expression — amaze the pants off me. We had only just met when he dropped that line, and if things had gone any differently we may never have fallen in love… but at that moment I knew that we were going to be in each others’ lives, in some way or another, for a long time to come.
Here are some more pics of us from Folsom 2011. Can you tell that my interest was already piqued?
