Today is my two year porniversary! On August 29, 2011, having absolutely no clue what to expect, I walked into the Titan offices in San Francisco to film Surveillance with my buddy Hunter Marx. I guess the shoot went pretty well (except for one hiccup; watch the video below for details) because the studio offered me an exclusive agreement the next day… and thus began the most exciting two years (so far) of my life.
To celebrate the occasion, here’s a little blast from the past… and, I’ll admit, a little self-congratulatory pat on the back. (Hey, it’s my anniversary… I’m allowed!) In 1997, when I was 23 years old (I’m 40 as of this writing) and on vacation in San Diego, I balanced my camera on a rock at deserted Black’s Beach and took this nude self-portrait. A little while later I sent it to a hot guy I was chatting with on AOL and he wrote back, “Dude, you could totally be a porn star!” I was flattered, but dubious; “Thanks,” I replied, “but I seriously doubt that’ll ever happen.” My porn idols at the time were the likes of Steve Kelso and Jake Tanner, and I could never look like that… not in a million years… those guys are veritable legends of the industry and way out of my league. But the seed had been planted, and I took that comment as a challenge. I love new experiences and new challenges. As I started getting serious about my health and my workouts, my body started to respond and my confidence grew. So when Roman Wright referred me to Titan 15 years later and they offered me a scene, how could I refuse?
I think we’ve all at some point wondered what it would be like to be in a porn flick, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have had that chance. Eleven films (and counting) later, I’m as happy as… well, I think I’m as happy as a 40 year old perennially horny gay man can be. I’ve grown so much through the experiences I’ve had. I’ve made tons of new friends, built my confidence (not to mention my sexual repertoire!) tremendously… and met the man of my dreams. Working in porn has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made… and it all started with this pic and a random chat on AOL. Pretty cool, huh? Too bad I didn’t save the chat, and that I can’t remember that hot dude’s AOL handle. I’d love to thank him in person.
I’ve got some additional anniversary news to share, but I have to finalize a couple of things first. It’s exciting stuff, though! In the meantime, here’s a clip of me in 2011 explaining how I broke the set on my first day as a Titan man exactly 2 years ago today!
