Classical Caber: Dirk sings Rachmaninoff’s “Vespers” in Providence, RI
Last Saturday, Dirk joined the Brown University Chorus in a performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Vespers, also known as the All-Night Vigil. Our friend Fred, the director of the chorus (which is comprised of Brown students), needed to supplement the ensemble with a basso profundo, and Dirk fit the bill perfectly. Not everybody can hit that low B♭! Here are a few photos from the performance; I’ve highlighted Dirk with a yellow arrow. Cleans up nicely, doesn’t he?
I only managed to capture a little bit of video (above), but you can really hear Dirk’s mellifluous bass at the very end of the clip.
Jesse, Thank you for this snippet. Even if you hadn’t mentioned hearing him at the end with that low note, I would have recognized it anywhere. All thanks to Missa Conceptua. I with I could have been there to here it live.
Bravo Dirk Caber
A french fan for You and Jesse

Thanks Jesse you and Dirk are great and do so must good.
I played the video the day after Labor Day, in Canada anyway, I’m not sure if Americans have that day. But …. listening to it made me laugh, as a nice way to start the day ! Inspiring!
